Sacred Offering

Sacred Offering depicts the timeless act of dana — a young devotee pouring white rice before a Jain monk who stands in gentle blessing. The monk's white robes and raised hand carry the authority of renunciation; the devotee's focused pour carries the sincerity of faith.

The folk-art inspired composition flattens perspective to elevate symbol over realism: the ochre wall, flowering tree, and thatched roof become archetypes of the spiritual village. This painting was created as a meditation on the relationship between giver and receiver, and the grace that flows between them.
