Autumn Lake Sunset maps the reflection of turning foliage onto still water — two horizons meeting in a single plane. Cool violets and amber golds were glazed in alternation until the surface appeared to shimmer without detail becoming noisy.
The trees are suggested rather than described, allowing the lake to become the true subject: a mirror for memory, season, and change. This work belongs to a series exploring how landscape can feel devotional without depicting figures.
